2010 Equinox, what is this light on the dash?

I just acquired a 2010 Chevy Equinox. Yesterday I noticed a light on the top of the dash in the center by the windshield. This light was blinking orange and then turned on solid orange. At that time the horn started honking off and on. My car was off with the drivers' side door open. I thought this light assembly was an auto headlight sensor but apparently not. The owner's manual was of no help. I hope someone here can help me.

From what I’ve researched it is a light sensor. It tells your vehicle when to turn on the lights and what the brightness instrument panel level the lights should be. It also consists of a red LED indicator for the security system.
