Bruce, you can get a bypass harness from Amazon that will allow you to effectively keep auto stop from working. Easy fix but just make sure you get the right harness to address the stop/start factory control.

My 2005 equinox continues to overheat after replacing the thermostat, the water pump and completely flushing the entire system. Any ideas and help is greatly appreciated.
