1st Gen - Android stereo recommendations

Has anyone installed an Android head unit in a Gen 1 2008 Equinox LT? I ordered one, it was plug and play harnesses. I followed the instructions including to splice the "amp" wire to a 12v accessory wire. I tried splicing ig to thr car plugs 12v. That didn't work so next I spliced to the 12v wire on the Android radio harness side. No matter what I did, I only got sound out of the front pass speaker. Also the radio did not have a setting for Gen 1 equinox years, though the seller's ad specifically said it was compatible. Just checking if anyone can recommend one that is definitely compatible. I mainly want it for radio, NAV, and to plug in some music on USB or SD card. Im not a big music streamer.

I would deal with someone like crutchfield. At least you would have support if it didn't work.

Agree fully with Vern. When I purchased my 08 Nox new I contacted Crutchfield for advice. All the local stereo shops wanted to replace stock radio with new unit costing big bucks. They suggested amp and new speakers instead at a fraction of the estimates. Sounds great and also their customer support is top notch. Installation instructions were very explicit including access to radio and removal of door panels. Very satisfied with them.
