Title say it! What is your field of work and how many years?

For myself, I think I said it, the great world of automobile.

Next year will be my 9th in this industry, the 2nd for BMW.

I've always worked in the both of service and parts department, but at the very beginning of my career I've been a mechanic, I study to become but can't figure out to do oil change and tires for 4-5 years before getting a decent salary.

What about you everyone ?

I work for the second largest oilfield service company in the world. I have worked for them for only 2 years, but this is easily the best company I have ever worked for. Best fit for me personally and also for the company. Took me 9 years after college to find the perfect job for me. I have always worked in inventory/logistics management, and still do today. I am sure I'll work here until I retire (or get offered more money).

I have worked in landscaping for the past 8 years but I have a past in sales. I could rock it at the Chevy Dealership but I love what I am doing...

I have a lot of GM family so I get a pretty good hook up there. My brother also works at Hendrick Auto Collision Center that has all the major brands there. So I can also a even better deal not to negate the fact that I have done the landscaping for the guy who is in charge of the Hendrick dealers at the Cary Auto Mall who is Rick Hendricks right hand man....

So it is easy for me to get a really good deal on my vehicles!

No, it was nice but corporate America keeps wanting
you to do more for less, so it has changed a lot in the
last 2-3 years. If all goes well I will be doing a career
change in about 4 years & 2 months. (7 at the most)

*I have 2 Friends who's Father (Know him well also)
own a Chevrolet Dealership. They have offered me a
job the last 3 yrs in a row, just can't take a cut, yet.

I've worked the last year on parts, doing replacement for a maternity year off (don't know the right term in english) and it was planned that when she come back, I'll be doing the warranty claim to BMW Canada, but a little change occur.

One of the service advisor is off for a long time due to malady, so I'm on his chair. I usually do 40 hrs a week, paid per hour, the service department have weekly salaries. Since we never re negociate my contract, I cover the 50 or 55 hours for the service, with all hours over 40 compted on time and a half. I love my pay check these days!!

(My Wife is my "Sugar Momma" cause she makes more)

I lack 4 years and 37 days having 25 years of service.

But I lack 7 years and 7 months on the Mansion,
and 11 years and 9 months on Rental next door.

I'm in the same situation as my wife makes more. The optician have good pay check here, but they do30 to 35 hours per week. So she have a better salary per hour, but I work more hours so my check is higher. It sucks I have to pay more bills lol
