is this normal or is the wire broken?

So was under the hood today and noticed this connection looks off.
Is it suppose to be like this or is this grey wire broken and whats this for?
2024 equinox rs gas.

Also coolant level just under that seem in the middle when engine cold is normal spot i cant seem to see where cold line is.

That white stub is just a place holder of sorts. No worries on it being a broken wire. My 2021 Equinox coolant bottle was on the lower side when I purchased it used w/ 3yrs/34K miles on it. I topped it up with GM orange coolant I had on hand.
