Have a 2026 RS, 4200 miles. Since winter the knock sensor goes on and off. Already have had the sensor and wire replaced by dealer under warranty. Came back on the first drive after the dealership (couple days after due to holidays). Ran the fuel down to almost empty. Put 87 in it that is recommended, usually here 88 is cheaper, thought maybe bad gas was causing the issue. Been running fine until it got below freezing. Saw a post about cold start rough idle but I don't get that code and it seems to run fine and no noises. When the light comes on we lose power, like almost dangerously slow to accelerate and Poor gas mileage. I couldn't find anything similar online, hoping someone has had a similar issue with a 25 or 26 since it's the same motor.

Best I can tell, P0355 is "crankshaft position A circuit malfunction". This is something totally different than a knock sensor. Regardless, "circuit malfunction" codes don't necessarily mean the sensor is bad, it means it's electrical circuit isn't functioning right.

I'd like to see the dealer's diagnostics process for this, which was probably just swapping parts and hoping, which is unfortunate.

Here's a freeze frame from when the light turned on. Not sure if anyone knows how to read it.

The vehicle is clearly under warranty (unless you modified it). Why are you trying to figure this out yourself?

Return the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis and repair. Keep meticulously records in case you reach your state’s threshold for the vehicle lemon law.

Been to the dealer. Was told the wire was lose....replaced wire and sensor....wasn't the wire clearly...don't really think their diagnosis is going to work since they already did that. Hence the forum...if someone has already been thru this with a dealer they could perhaps let me know the end fix.

I wish you well. If it was me, I'd find another dealer and explain the poor repair by the prior dealer, and ask for the issue to be repaired under warranty. This might not be an option depending on where you live (far from other dealers), or another dealer may refuse - telling you to return to the original repairing dealer?
