Hard to read oil level on 2011 Equinox

Hey everyone....I have a 2011 Equinox and recently have had a hard time reading the oil level when I check it. I checked it this morning and one side of the level on the dipstick seems higher than the other side. How exactly do I read this? Taking it into a Chevy dealer the day after tomorrow for what seems to be an issue with it burning through oil quicker than it should be. I've heard that this issue with GM vehicles is common, but I want to fix it if it's a legitimate problem. Any feedback would be great. Thanks!

Are you wiping the dipstick then sticking it back in to then check it again? thats how I was taught. And yes it most likely has the oil consumption issue
