Equinox radio and GPS issue

Hello everyone, I am new owner of 2013 Chevy Equinox LTZ I bought two months ago. I have searched in this forum here and can't find about the radio and GPS problem. My question is how do I turn off the radio with GPS in use?

I just got my 2013 so not real experienced but I think if you push the home button you can go to the radio and reduce the volume. The Nav has it's own volume settings in the config menus, see page 71 of the Infotainment manual, download from Chevy website if needed.

Mine reduces the radio volume when the Nav gives me a guidance message so maybe that is a setting as well. A nice alternative to turning off radio. I know when I am on phone the radio is muted but i still get the voice guidance from the Nav system.
