Door won't unlock

2011 Equinox. Rear passenger side door will not unlock. Dealer says cannot fix without cutting into door panel. Cost to replace panel about $1,000. There must be cheaper way. Any ideas?

Is this a GM dealer who doesn't know how to pop-off the door panel? I'd go to another dealer, you're about to get hosed....

That's bull crap, I think you need another opinion from another dealership!
