Hi this is my first post. Got a 2012 Equinox w/95k miles a few years back. It was using oil and I did not think much of that. What I did not know is that chevy built a lemon engine. They compounded the problem by using a tiny oil filter. So at 106k miles the timing chain stretched and the computer would not allow the engine to run. So I have decided to rebuild the engine. We got it out and tore it down and sent the head a block to the machine shop. Google says that aftermarket oil rings will fix the problem. I am sure many of the people on this site have had similar issues with the 2.4 L engine. I am looking for advice on gasket kits, rings. and references for proper ways and tricks for reassembly. And the success any one has had in resurecting these engines and bad experiences for same. Thanks
