Anyone know how to remove overhead console?

On my 2019 the sunglasses compart door is opening slowly. Trying to figure out how I can breath new life into it and make it open fast again and I figure I have to remove the console.

On my 2019 the sunglasses compart door is opening slowly. Trying to figure out how I can breath new life into it and make it open fast again and I figure I have to remove the console.

I have a 2021 Premier but I assume the overhead console attachment method is similar to your 2019. If you work the fingertips of both hands into the headliner at the left and right sides of the console, and get a grip above it, you should be able to pull downward and cause the spring clips to release their hold in the slots of the roof structure. There are four clips, a front and a rear on the left and the same on the right. This will require a good amount of force and seem like it won't release, but just pull as hard as you can and it should pop down.
