I'm under 70% on the DIC, and approx 3000km done since my last oil change. 1500 of those 3000 km were done in my vacations (10days). Wonder if I should do one before the winter.

Still not have switched to synthetic.


At BMW, oil changed are stated 1yr or 25 000 km, thats sound way too much for me lol

Don't forget, the oil must be labeled "DEXOS". Mobil 1 is.

Good old Castrol 5w30 will do the job as well

I use Valvoline synthetic. I tried Quaker State, but it left carbon buildup on the filter and chunks in the filter housing. Valvoline is definitely a better oil.

I normally use castrol 5w30 synthetic in the black container for the subaru. I used the 5w20 quaker state synthetic in the hyundai I had and it ran quiet and oil looked brand new at 5k oil changes.

That got wrecked though.

I decided this round I'd go with the Quaker state 5w30 synthetic in both the nox and the subaru.

I run wix xd filters on both the subaru and the nox.

I changed to Pennzoil. It cost less than Valvoline. I'm now thinking Valvoline is causing carbon build up and that's why the QS drained with carbon build up on filter because it was actually cleaning out what Valvoline is depositing.
