Tires, Tires, Tires, which ones?

New tires needed. I have looked and don't seem to find what would be good tire for a 2019 Equinox LT with Michelin's Premier LTX, 225/65r17 tires. The original 4 tires got 29,000 miles and all are showing lots of sidewall cracking all the way around and were never run low. The tread is about 3/4 worn out. They are the Michelin's Premier LTX of which I am not a fan of but that's what it came with. I live in California desert area and drive sanely, easy starts, don't push it through corners, no hard braking. I find that front wheel drive cars are really noise because of tire noise inside. I am looking for tires that are quieter and last longer time, rot/cracking wise. Notice I didn't say cheap. I don't drive in the snow of heavy rain and if I do I slow down. I lived in northern Michigan for 30 years and know how to drive in severe weather conditions and that means slow down. Anyone have any suggestion's for tires in that size that they installed and think they are quieter?

As a side note, my auto stop wasn't working anymore and I liked that it didn't work, but the battery was the original and I replaced it after it was 5 years old and now the auto stop is working again and I hate it, annoying and I don't care that it saves me a teaspoon of gas every time I drive it. The total amount I save in gas costs won't begin to pay for a new starter and flywheel when the wear out.

I have >60k on Goodyear, it’s a 2019 2L. Original Hankooks were gone at 45K. I just want some quiet. Local shop says TOYO, or Michelin. Any thoughts?

I just had new tires installed on my 2020 Premier 2.0t with 43K on original tires. The tires are 235/50 R19. I researched the crap out of replacements mainly trying to find a quieter set.
I ended up w/ Goodyear Assurance Comfort Drive. After a $200 GY rebate they came to $1026. out the door. The 19in boosted the price somewhat. But I did notice they were quieter.

I’m replacing all four hubs with AC DELCO GOLD. The noise is horrible!

Getting a new set of Goodyear Assurance max life put on my 2019 today. Michelins from factory ran 36K, rotated every 5-6k and were at 3/32...might have squeezed a couple more thousand out , but, rebates , trip comming up ect...Hope we like the Goodyears!

How have the Max Life tires been so far? I had a pair on my 2014 Cruze I really liked, and I am looking at some Continental Cross Contact LX or the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 at the moment. I got over 110k on the Michelins that came with the car as I am not hard on tires outside of a lot of Ubering on the weekends. The ride on them is getting pretty bad although the tread on them still looks OK but not great.

haha just here to comment on the auto stop/start. Replacing my battery also made it start working again. Annoying but everything else, including my sticky parking brake button is working right after changing the battery. Thank goodness for the button on the 2023 to turn off that auto stop/start function.
