2026 Equinox EV tire jack not equipped?

I just bought a new 2026 Equinox EV. It has velcro hold-downs in the hatch floor storage area but there is no compressor, tire sealant kit and no tire jack. It's bad enough that Chevy has eliminated a spare tire. But not equipping the vehicle with tire jack or tire repair kit is cheap and down right ridiculous! Does anyone know if either of these are standard equipment on the Equinox EV, LT2?

Most likely because you have self-sealing tires. The lower models come with a tire inflator and sealant.

Well, that doesn't help when I replace the expensive sealing tires with conventional tires. Im very disappointed with GM regarding this.

Most EVs do not come with a jack or a spare tire. The self-sealing tires replace the compressor and sealant, which is worthless if you get a significantly sized puncture anyway.

My first EV was a 21 Bolt. It came with a tire inflator and sealant. My wife hit a small piece of metal in the road, and that was it for the tire. Low rolling resistance tires (LLR) are not as strong. If you switch to conventional tires, you will sacrifice range. I found a balance with my 21 Bolt and some Kumho tires, where I was still able to achieve 4.0 mi/kWh or better.

The wheel pattern for the Chevy Bolt is 5x105; the Chevy Cruze shares the same pattern. I bought a donut tire for a Cruze at a junkyard for $10. The spare sat in a 40-gallon storage container we placed in the back, along with a bottle jack, for trips. That car was totaled. Our 27 Bolt RS came with a useless tire inflator and sealant. Luckily, the wheel pattern didn't change, so we're already good to go.
