Sterrimg wheel shifts left

Im not sure if this is just my car or not but when I start going after stopping at a red light my wheel shifts left and I start driving a drop to the left from stop. Is this normal? Is it bc of lane assist?

I've had that happen occasionally and I think it is a result of the lane assist. It's never very forceful and most of the time it doesn't happen. However, we have a couple of locations here in town where the lanes were restriped but they never did a good job of removing the old ones. So I've had lane assist try "correcting" with the nudge and I think it's getting confused with the conflicting stripes.

I think OP is experiencing torque steer. If you have AWD turned off, you are subject to the same torque steer FWD cars have. I doubt lane assist has anything to do with it. If it bothers you, turn on AWD and it should disappear. However, your MPG will slightly drop with AWD on all the time. Plus there would be more wear and tear on the AWD transfer case.

I have a FW drive RS and the f#$%& steering wheel has done that since day one. At first I had to convince the dealer it must have been out of alignment. And yes, I say convince cause they give you crap about alignments for free because they say people cause the problem when they hit a curve or a pot hole, etc. Anyways, after they check the car and realized it only had like 100 miles and no abuse, they agreed to do the alignment. Next hurdle, was wait for GM to give chevy the alignment specks..... apparently being a new model, they didn't have the info in their computers. Long story short at 1500 or so miles i finally got the alignment. They showed me where everything looked aligned. They also claim, they aligned or made sure the steering wheel is aligned to specks. The car drove a smidge better, but the steering wheel is still not centered, leans to the left a little. Now, here is a question... it's it possible this is happening because the dashboard is not 100% flat or facing the driver? It looks like there's a gradual pitch to the left on the dashboard.

I don't think so. Test drive one on the dealer's lot, and either prove you or the repair shop wrong.

The normal crown in the road can cause the steering wheel to runoff a little to the left.

Nah... I've never had a car that did this. I have another car which i drive on the same road and not only stays straight, but the steering wheel is centered. I have had the car alignment done and this is still a problem. I'm willing to entertain that it is an isolated issue for me, but sadly i have the problem

If the problem is on acceleration from a stop, it could be torque steer or the action of the lane keeping assist "helping" you. I have noticed those things on ours as well. I read somewhere that GM is investigating complaints of that feeling from multiple customers. If the problem is when just driving straight down the road, an old mechanics trick is to switch the front tires from side to side and see if that makes any difference. Of course be sure the tires are inflated to the correct pressure and the same pressure. Our 2026 seems to be especially sensitive to tire pressure. Good Luck!
