I change my own oil in both of my cars that have oil life monitors in them. My wife's car is just about 3,000 miles from the last oil change but reads 65% oil life left. How many of you go by what the vehicle tells you over the "Standard" 3,000 mile interval oil changes?

Our Acadia shows 5,000 miles when the OLM gets down to 10%. That is when I change it. I have been doing used oil analysis on the Acadia and it is really beating up the oil so I don't go past 5k miles. That is running full synthetic in it. Now my other vehicles I can go a lot longer.

I would say change out at 5,000 miles is a good figure to go by. Easy to remember and you can line up tire rotations along with it.

Every 3k or 3 months, which ever comes first. Simply because the Extended Warrenty requires it.

I do the change myself. Keep receipts. Just in case the Warrenty is needed.
