Heater & Defrost lights not iluminated

The controls are not iluminated. There is only a small led that shows when they are active...is this normal?
They are very hard to see in the dark.

The controls aren't lighting up or changing brightness when the headlamps come on? Is the dash illumination adjustment set all the way to dim?

Nope when the headlights are on..
Dash illumination is set to high.
Still no illumination.

Just tried it again & now I have illumination....Hope it stays that way...I did not change anything.

For me I can make it out at night but if bright sun is coming in the windshield I don't even try to see them. You have a CLIMATE SCREEN available if you want to use it. Temp, fan speed and vent location plus some other stuff is easily accessible without looking down.
Also the HEY GOOGLE command works flawlessly: HEY GOOGLE temperature 75, HEY GOOGLE fan speed 3 or lower or higher. I haven't changed the direction of air flow yet: floor, vent or defrost but I guess it will work. My salesman recommended using: sync temp, auto control and just move the temp up and down with the knob which is easy. I still prefer the HEY GOOGLE.
This has been discussed before and this is definitely not last time. They are hard to see.

FYI google does not control settings on all Equinox models.
