Hi everyone! I've tried to use the hands-free driving function on my 2024 Equinox. I only try it on open road with no traffic of course. It only lasts about a quarter mile on its own before it warns me to take the wheel. Do I need to perform a calibration on it before it can at least last a mile or so of open road with no traffic?

Hi! I don't believe that our '24s have a true "hands free driving" feature where the car truly drives by itself for any length of time, I think that it's more of a "lane keep assist" to nudge you back into your lane if you get close to the line. I'm sure others can clarify the full abilities of the feature.

Check out page 233 of the manual for more details:

How long have you had your 'Nox, and how do you like it so far? I've had mine for just over 2 years, and I absolutely love it.

That's my understanding.
The window sticker on our 2018 Equinox and 2025 Blazer show the option as "Lane Keep Assist"

The hands-free driving feature is available only on the 2024 Equinox EV models, as part of the Active Safety Package 3 (e.g., 3RS, FWD) through GM's Super Cruse System. It sounds like you only have Lane Keep Assist.

Yes I don't believe you have hands free driving in that vehicle. It's not available on my 25 LT. I really like this car but I wish self driving was available. I use the adaptive cruise constantly because I don't want any rear enders.
