Hello all, I'm Scott, and I have a 2013 2.4 with some issues. This has been a somewhat of an ongoing issue, and need some advice.

My equinox has been having some electrical issues. If I try to remote start, it loses all electric power like the battery is missing. If I tap on the PCM, it's like something is coming back to life. If I use only the key, it starts every time. When I'm driving, the dash and radio will occasionally "reboot" for only a second, and it says "Service Stabilitrak" on the cluster and I lose tire pressure info. Last night I was able to get it to do that twice by either activating the abs or traction control on icy roads. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch, and I'm trying to get as much info as I can for my mechanic. Last night the exterior lights also flicked off then on very quickly. Not sure if I should just parts cannon with electrical parts, or pay up with diagnostics.

Has this ever occurred with anyone else? If you have thoughts or questions, please ask. It has 105xxx miles, always maintained. Oil changes every 3000 ish miles, had chains done once already under that piston replacement bulletin about 60000 ago. Have had no real issues until this. Replaced 2 hubs, one front one rear, and normal maintenance parts. Thanks ahead of time, I'm not on the pocket computer a whole lot.

Have you had the battery load tested? I would start there. Many auto parts stores will do it for free.

I have had three different batteries load tested, checked with the gr8 battery tester at Chevrolet, and the batteries have all tested good. I've checked connections, I found the grounds, all tight all clean, I'm just stumped. As I said, I'm not a mechanic, but I would love to get any information to my guy that I can. Thank you so much for the reply though, I thought the same thing in the beginning as well

There are procedures for checking the PCM with a multi tester. I don't have a service manual though.

Best of luck. These electrical gremlins can be hard to sort out. Hopefully it's just a bad PCM. My only other thought would be something related to the security system.
