So I recently replaced my CV axles with an after market brand GSP. Ever since I had them replaced I’m getting almost like rough binding/ shuddering when the steering wheel is full turned to the left or right. I tested the issue on an open lot and when turning at low acceleration it feels like I’m running over speed bumps on the side of a highway. Also I replaced my control arm and tie rods. But it feels like it’s the CV.
My question is, I went back and looked at the specs of the GSP CV axel, on the driver side compressed length is 24.53in. The GM Genuine compressed length is 20.46in. Same with the pass side. GSP is 21.97in and GM is 17.94in. Do you think the difference in size can be causing my issue or can it be more and be a tranny issue. I purchased them off Rockauto and made sure it was for a 3.6.
I had my mechanic look at it and try to replicate it on the lift and had the front end hanging. But couldn’t get it to do what I’m explaining. It’s only happening when it’s under load. If anyone has any thoughts or input on this if would be appreciated.
