2007 equinox oil consumption

Have a 07 equinox we bought new. Has 112000 miles

Been noticing oil consumption

Down 2 on the dip stick in 1000 miles

Is that normal?

No. That is a lot of consumption for any car. on my 6 cylinder 07 NOX, I am at 181,000 miles and have have that much oil consumption in 5000 miles. You have a compression issue. Bring to a shop and have them test the cylinders for compression.
