So, I'm assuming all '25 Equinii are the same regarding the key proximity "feature". I walk into the garage with the key in my pocket and the car wakes up... exterior lights illuminate, humming, buzzing, interior screens show logos, etc. I hate this.

Anyway, the USB-A port below the infotainment screen is also energized when the key is in proximity, but only MOMENTARILY; 18 seconds and then shuts off. It will re-energize when the car is started.
This USB-A is linked to the infotainment system for music on a thumb drive.

I have a dash cam plugged into the USB-A port for power. Needless to say, I get a very short video of the inside of my garage every time before I start the car.

There are also two USB-C ports on the rear of the center console for second row use.

My question is; Are the two second row USB-C ports independent of the infotainment system? Are they for charging/power only? I'm thinking about getting an extension to one of those for the dash cam.

I'm leasing, so I don't want to hardwire the camera.

Thanks.

Yeah
How about settings ?
Yeah, I looked through all(?) the settings in the car this morning and didn't see anything obvious.

This is the only blurb I could find about proximity in the manual. It's in the Lighting Features and only mentions lights and nothing about the interior screens or USB ports.
Approach Detection
If equipped, entry lighting will automatically
turn on when the remote key is detected within
approximately 2 m (6 ft) of the vehicle.
If the vehicle has remained parked for an
extended period of time with no use of remote
key or keyless access, approach detection will
be disabled. To reactivate approach detection,
press any button on the remote key or open and
close all vehicle doors.

I have had success calling on Star with questions. It is hit or miss though. Depends on the agent.

SO, to solve my dash cam issue, I bought a USB C to USB Female Cable 3FT, Type-C Male to USB A 3.1 Female and a USB C 90 Degree Adapter. I plugged it into a second row USB-C port and it works the way I want.
