Hello! First time poster here!
I am in the middle of my timing chain replacement and ran into a snag, wondering if anyone has ran into the same issue and fixes for it
I removed the timing chains per the cloyes procedure, using cam locking tools bought on amazon. The front (left) secondary chain went on perfectly, went to install the primary chain (crank to idlers) and found the chain to be 1 tooth off from the alignment mark on the chain. I adjusted the crank position to match the 5 o’clock timing mark, and the position of the timing link. The idler positions did not change
I went to install the rear (right) chain, moved the crank to the 9 o’clock timing position, installed the chain on the vvt sprockets and found the bottom idler timing to be off by 1 tooth.
Has anyone ran into this issue before? What was the remedy?
Thanks for the help!!
