Thermastat housing broke

i am wondering if this thermastat housing is broke

i was changing thermasts and removing the coolant temperture sensor and the outlet housing fell and broke one of the nut holes.

the initial problem was that the car was having a overheating problem. so i got to thinking that it could be thermastat or the cooling sensor. so when i took the thermastat out to replace it looked new (gonna put new in anyways) and then removed the sensor and sensor completely crumbled (plastic) so i replaced the sensor and

I have my intake off now to do head gaskets. It’s pretty tough. Cast alum ya know. Odd. A used intake is $30 or so at junkyard. IF you really want to fix it. Give you chance to change intake gaskets. Which is no fun.
