My 2018 1.5 has an issue, it seems to surge/jerk when it is cold outside when I come to a stop until it warms up. I can’t tell if it is the engine or the transmission. It almost seems like the transmission is down shifting while stopped. When it first happened I thought someone hit my car in the rear it is that violent.

Start with the simple stuff...check engine oil and transmission fluid levels.

Oil is good
I don’t believe I can check the fluid in this transmission. It doesn’t leak

Could it be The"stop/start? That's what it feels like. The tach goes to zero when you stop for a few seconds.

it does it in manual mode as well, which disables that feature. That being said it still could be something related to that. It doesn’t register any error codes so it’s hard to diagnose
