Rust behind front wheels on 20616 Equinox.

We bought a 2016 Equinox. It was in decent shape and had two spots of rust directly behind the front wheels. Roughly where the Door and fender meet. I noticed in later models there is some for of protector in that area. I would love to install something there just to hide the rust. Is that possible or does anyone know of a fender protector that goes that low??

It is roughly in this area on the front side on driver and passenger.

I too have this problem,it seems to be a common problem with Equinox
