Owners manual doesn’t specify the oil for rear differential on an AWD premiere . The manual does show a number for the transfer case fluid which is 88900401 which is 75w90 gear oil. What’s everyone using on AWD rest diffs?

The gm number for transfer case looks like 75w90 gear oil . Is the rear differential the same 75w90 ?

Dexron 75W90 LS Is what google and AI tell me. You could always call parts at the dealer and ask what they would sell you and buy it from someone else.

I used Valvoline synthetic 75w90 in my 2021. Also keep in mind there is a clutch fluid reservoir on the rear carrier also. It takes pentosin 11s fluid. I haven't touched that fluid on my 2021 equinox or 2021 traverse.

So you used the same oil in transfer case and rear differential. And just added the limited slip additive to rear diff? And Thanks for the heads up on the clutch reservoir Gonna do transfer case and rear differential this weekend and I’ll take a look at that for maybe next oil change .
