OK, so I have had the 2026 Activ for about 5 months now. Yes, it has some nice features but those can be had on other vehicles as well so not a factor
in why I'm slowly coming to the end of my rope with this car.
The other day and many before that, the lack of take-off power in this thing has almost gotten me into accidents when pulling out
into fast moving traffic. My husband says it is turbo lag. Could be but it is becoming a deal breaker in my opinion! I have to floor it, and it moves but not the
quick response until seconds later then it goes but by then, it is too late to avoid the person behind you from getting pissed off as they have to slam on the brakes! This is at
roundabouts where you are expected to jump into the traffic and yes, you can sit there at a full stop and wait but that would defeat the purpose of a roundabout where you are supposed to merge
in fast and keep the line going. Anyway, these situations of no power upon take off are one concern.
The other is the lack of fully closing off the outside air when the heater/AC is one. Yes, it has the recirculation button which I use and in all other vehicles, this turns off
the outside air fully. The Equinox it still lets in some. This is bad for those of us sensitive to smells and when you get near a diesel or a classic car, it is
unbearable as the smell just pours in regardless. I have seen others complain on this as well. There must be a design flaw in there or? Or they simply made it
this way on purpose....
A few other things that annoy: Bad sound system, auto shut off, poor gas mileage, Hard to see the buttons during the day on the lower dash, column shifter design, and poor braking. That last one may be a warranty issue because I hear grinding in the front from time to time. 2,200 miles on it so not quite there yet for the service so I'm waiting for that in another 2 months if I keep it that long.

I know all new vehicles have their issues and I can overlook some but the turbo lag in this is a bear and the smells I cannot handle. Yuck!

Sounds like you should sell it ASAP. Sorry, and good luck with the replacement. Hopefully you will do a better due diligence on your next purchase.

We came close to using the " lemon law" with our 2025 Equinox. Electrical problems that the local dealer COULDN'T fix. Had to actually get techs from GM mother ship. Seems to be mostly ok now. Nothing 100 more horsepower wouldn't fix though.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Info/entertainment, switchgear and HVAC complaints seem to abound with the 2024+. Lots of talk on our site in regards to the power of the LYX and LSD 1.5 turbo. I have not driven an LSD or the newer LSD / 8AT combo to have anything to share in regards to that. I do know my 2021 LT AWD has plenty of power for what it is. I have always been very pleased with it that way. No "turbo lag", etc. IMO, you can't feel, hear or detect any turbo activity. These are tiny little turbos attached to a non-performance, utilitarian engine.

Thanks for all the reply's! My hubby said I should "spool up the turbo" before taking off to merge into the roundabouts.... Really? I told him keeping one foot on the brake and slightly revving the motor then letting off and shooting forward sounds like a race car driver! lol! I think not! I just continue to get horns blown at me
trying to drive in those so I think I may trade it off. Darned depreciation is pretty bad and at only 7 months old, it lost $10,000! Trade in value anyway. That is really sad. Should have went with a Toyota!

I'm up against a hubby that will only allow certain brands and so out of those, this one had checked all the boxes. Some things just do not come out until you drive it a thousand miles and learn it's quirks and under performance issues. The test drive was pretty thorough but we did not take it on a roundabout or other situation that would have brought out these issues.

I see not much has changed in 14 years. Sell now. They never did anything for all of the problems I have had

Sounds like you should trade for a Vette, no turbo lag there. My 21 Equinox doesn't have any lag. And gets 32 mpg on a trip.

I've recently picked up a new 2026 AWD without noticeable pickup issues. When accelerating onto a highway on ramp, it produces enough power to merge safely into traffic. You might consider having your vehicle thoroughly checked to ensure the engine is performing according to specs. Factory warranty should cover that. Good luck.
