I put the vented cap on and thought I was safe from blowing out the rear seal. When the engine started to stumble while I was driving, I thought first off that the timing components failed. Got the front cover off and everything was intact. When I raised the vehicle to replace the water pump, I noticed oil under the vehicle. I moved to removing the engine to replace the rear seal.
Fast forward to this winter. I noticed a lot of moisture in the intake and I had replaced the intake manifold.
I got fed up with the stock PCV system and resorted to the old faithful.
