I have been towing this vehicle for 8 years now and occasionally, once or twice a year had the death wobble till a few weeks ago where it started happening a lot each day. I originally had a switch installed to make the Fuse pull procedure much simpler. Since this began recently I read that there is a now procedure, to remove a different fuse, possibly under the hood instead of the fuse box inside. I believe the actual problem is the electric steering needs power to keep it from wobbling. (I am thinking I may really need to have the front end gone thru and probably get new tires too) But we are 3000 miles from home in eastern Canada at the moment so I am trying things. If I do not disconnect the original fuse the car pulls fine (reinforces needing power to the electric steering gear) but the battery is pretty dead after a few hours of towing. I mounted a Noco 10 Amp charger and charged that during the tow and its barely keeping up with the power draw, mostly Not keeping up so I need to use my jump starter when I get to the destination. (battery is less than 2 years old, and I put in the larger one this last time as the original size never gave me the warm fuzzies that it was powerful enough to start the car, even after charging a new one full. Hence when I realized a bigger battery would fit I bought that one and I finally had the warm fuzzies again!
I read here, in a post about newer Equonox's that fuse 42 was a good one to pull for the infotainment center. I watched a video about my years fuse for that system and seems there are 4, one is 30 amp.
The GM new instructions are to remove the fuse for the brakes which seems like it would be a really small draw. So I am wondering if anyone else knows what to do on a 2014 and knows what really needs to be pulled to make the power draw less and still power the steering gear?
