We have been flat towing our 23 Equinox on several trips following the "updated towing procedures" that GM sent out last year or so.. It seems every time we do the disconnect, we encounter different scenarios. We turn everything off when we hook up, but at disconnect, the radio is on. Recently the wipers had turned on, and the lights. Several members have commented they get a message telling them to roll down the driver window and back up. We have gotten this message very rarely. Most of the time we get the ESC Service light that eventually goes out after we disconnect and drive around a bit. We also get a warning from our MyChevrolet App that says the car battery is critically low and to start the car.
Per our installer's recommendation, we do not have a charge line installed.
Per the GM instructions. we have a battery disconnect on the negative terminal that we disconnect as part of the towing set-up
If I install a charge line for our DEMCO Stay & Play from etrailer, how and what do I need to do about the battery disconnect?
Need to get this figured out before some longer trips.
