Extended Warrenty Worth It?

I just bought a used 2019 Equinox LT with 23,560 miles. It staill has a almost a year and 12,000 miles left on the manufacturer's warranty. The dealer tried to sell us an extended warrenty for $2,530. I checked with thrid party firms. For exmple, CARCHEX offers a 5-year 75k, $100 deductible plan for $3,342. I'm fairly handy and have a good mechanic that I take my cars to. My last car lasted 12 years and 100k miles. Are these extended warrantees worth it on the Equinox? Thanks in advance.

If you look at the price of the warranty and then look at the costs of how much you may pay in repairs in the first 75K or 100K miles or five years they aren't worth it. I bought an extended warranty once on a 2004 Blazer I bought with low miles in 2008. I basically threw away $2500 by purchasing it.
