Good morning...greetings from Tamaulipas, Mexico...I have a 2016 Equinox LT AWD that I want to fit with 245/55R18 tires, 18"x8.0" rims with a +35 offset, and Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs. However, the suspension technicians aren't sure if the tire size will rub against the front wheel wells when turning the steering wheel fully. Has anyone on the forum done this modification and could offer some advice, please?

¡Hola, amigo!

Which Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs are you planning to use on your 2016 Equinox? I've never heard of a lowering kit or springs for a second-generation Equinox. Coil-overs are expensive. When I lowered mine, I had to use struts for a Saturn Vue Redline and Megan Racing lowering springs. The camber is set from the factory, so any spring sagging or lowering will require camber bolts in the front and cam nuts for the rear to get aligned. You won't be able to go any lower than about 2.25 inches, or you will need coil-overs. Unless you ride like those Honda guys, with their tires pointing in different directions.

As far as your rims and tires are concerned, you should be fine. I've used both the 245/45-R20x8 and 275/40-R20x9 factory 2012 Camaro SS wheels/tires on my 2012 Equinox without any rub in the front or back. There was plenty of room left.

The springs they recommend I install are these Eibach Pro-Kit (38153.140): Fixed combination of 1.0" on the front axle and 1.2" on the rear axle. It maintains the same horizontal alignment. The stock shocks are kept; they only need to be cut down 0.03-0.05 inches to restore travel. They should be aligned with very slight negative camber values of -0.5° to -0.8° (maximum 1.0°) on the front axle and -0.8° to -1.0° (maximum 1.2°) on the rear axle so that the tires sit within the fenders. Regarding the tires...perhaps your Equinox was FWD (front-wheel drive), which presents fewer problems when changing tires...I have a 2016 LT AWD, and if I adjust the ride height too much, I run into traction problems, ABS issues, dashboard warning lights, and other problems...that's why the 20" Camaro SS tire size is out of the question for my truck...I'm thinking of installing 235/55R18 tires on 18"x8.0 rims with a +35 offset, which, according to what I've been told, will have zero rubbing against wheel wells and fenders, zero ABS problems, and zero problems with the computer. I WOULD LIKE TO PUT ON 19" WHEELS, BUT I WOULD START HAVING STABILITY PROBLEMS ON THE ROAD

Lowering the body with the Eibach Pro-Kit and raising the tire and rim by one inch eliminates the huge gap in the rear that comes from the factory... I want the "stance" of a 2024 BMW X5 M Competition, a 2015 Audi Q7, or a 2010 Porsche Cayenne GTS, but I don't want to make a mistake, which is why I'm here to learn from your experiences, especially from those who have already done these kinds of modifications or know exactly how much can be changed on the Equinox.

I like the idea of that setup. For AWD, you need HP Tuners or EFILive to make a few adjustments so the ECM doesn't complain. I wish I could be more helpful, but I haven't tried +35 with 18x8 rims. I believe the factory 2013 Regal Turbo wheels were +42 when I tried them.

I hope you get it sorted out. Wouldn't mind seeing some pics.
