So I have done a drain and fill on my 2016 Equinox 2.4 FWD BUT am completely confused by the variety of ACDelco ATF Dexron VI fluid options. I count at least four and some sources say not all are compatible with my car. Any techs here that know the difference? What is the best ACDelco fluid? Full synthetic, blend, other? The manual is of no help.

There's nothing exotic about the 6T45 in your 2016. I would use something like Valvoline Maxlife ATF or Castrol Transmax Universal in it. That's all I use in my GM products (2016 Mailbu, 2021 Equinox, 2021 Traverse).

Yeah, the Valvoline Maxlife synthetic Dextron VI is what I use. You can get it in 5 qt jugs at Walmart for about $35.
It's definitely gone up in price, but what hasn't!! Just a year or two ago I swear I was able to get gallon jugs of VML ATF for just under $20 at MalWart. It's just under $25/gal now. Still a good deal for what it is. Parts stores sell it for $35-40/gal. Castrol Transmax Universal ATF/CVT fluid is an excellent fluid as well. It's a whole dollar cheaper per gallon jug @ $23.94 LOL. Either are excellent choices.
