Automatic Transmission Fluid Capacity

I called the dealer to see how much for them to change the transmission fluid. They told me $259 + tax. Seems a bit excessive. Granted they also told me it’s $90 for an oil change (I change the oil myself).

I see the vehicle need Dexron VI but any idea how much it needs? I know I can drain it and check how much comes out and refill but I like to have it on hand to have it completely done in 1 shot.

My 2015 Equinox took approximately 4 quarts. There are several Youtube videos that explain filling / checking procedure

I have a 2019 LT with 2.0L which took 4.5 qts (Drain & Fill).

I have the 1.5 L and I ordered 4. Maybe I should order a 5th just in case.

2013, 2.4L. 5 quarts drained out. It smelled horrible so I'm going to drain another 5 qts in a month or so. I'm guessing full capacity would be about 10 qts.
