Check Engine Code - P0442 (38k Miles - 2012)

Hey All,

I just started to get the P0442 Code (Evap Emission System Leak Detected) on my 2012 Chevy Equinox. It happens after I get gas and after 3-4 engine starts after. I have tried a new gas cap and it still does it. I don't smell gas in our outside of the car, no rough idle, just puzzled why this would happen at 38k.

Taking to the dealer later today as it's under certified warranty but has anyone else had this issue?

Something like this makes me wonder if it's just a bad sensor.

I just replaced the purge solenoid and the vent valve solenoid on mine. Easy fixes, do it yourself if you can. Each part was about $30.

Need to reset the error code after the fix. Don't use NAPA part. NAPA is crap part. Go OEM.
