'24 Equinox LT AWD in town mileage

Hi. I bought a '24 Equinox LT AWD with 45K on the odometer. 1.5L turbo. I switched the Driver center screen to show a trip odometer because I wanted to see the MPG. A short portion of the trip was at 60 - 70 MPH. The remainder has been a 5 mile 1 way commute to work. MPG shows +/- 23.8 MPG. Most of my driving is to/from work. I put in a bottle of Lucas Fuel treatment today. I haven't seen anything yet because it is too soon. Tank is 1/2 full of who knows what. I am coming from a '15 Trax 1.4 AWD. I understand Equinox is wider, longer, taller, heavier. Anyone with an Equinox that has short commutes with a 45 - 50 MPH Top speed have thoughts about longer term MPG?

The estimated is 24mpg in town driving, so you are close. My 2018 with the 2.0 gets 19mpg around town and 26-27 highway. I'm sure I could get better mileage if I drove in a civil manner, but I don't.

How many miles have you put on it at this point? You have to run a few full tanks through the vehicle to get a feel for the fuel economy you'll get for your usage. Winter time cold knocks a few MPGs away from the LYX and LSD 1.5, like it does with pretty everything these days. Tire pressure and type of tire have a big effect also. My daily round trip work commute is about 80 miles of mostly 65-75mph highway travel. In the winter time I get about 27-28mpg average. In the summer it's 30mpg. This is with my 2021 LT AWD 1.5.

Welcome, Prince Fan! I would also suggest calculating your mpg the old-fashioned way a few times (miles / gallons), as the computer estimation is not always the most accurate.

I also have the 2.0. Most of my in town trips are 2 miles or less one way. Speeds in the 25 to 40 mph range and I average around 20 or 21 mpg with that type of driving.

Currently, about 51 miles. The trip odometer was reset while I was on an interstate at speed. Onboard TPMS shows 29 PSI for 1 tire and 30 PSI for the three

Gosh I'd love to go south some day. My eldest child (25) was living in SC for awhile and I loved it there. They actually came back to Buffalo for a better job after a year or two. Took my Equinox there and back a few times and enjoyed every minute of it. Oh.. and for the record, my hand calc'd average fuel economy on those trips was right about 30mpg. 2 people, high speed, luggage, hills of WV, etc..

I have a 2024 AWD Equinox with about 25,000. Your tire pressure is low, should be 35psi cold for all 4. In FWD mode I consistently get 32mpg highway, sometimes as high as 35mpg in a 200 mile trip. Around town averaging 45mph, I can get anywhere from 27 - 31mpg. I rarely use AWD unless we are snow covered. I found a reduction of about 2mpg in AWD mode. Admittedly, I am a gentle driver.

I drive a 2018 Equinox with the 1.6L diesel engine. The milage is great! Highway gets 50-57 and city driving here in Minneapolis metro area is usually 40. Until recently the price I pay has been only 20 to 30 cents above gasoline. The other fun thing about it is the power! Not looking forward to the next fill up in a few days what with Trump's war.
