I just purchased this car and am getting it ready to flat tow behind my motorhome. The Owners Manual says that the battery should be disconnected at the negative terminal before towing. Will doing this erase the memory that I have stored in the radio, settings, etc.? If it does, is there a way to keep the memory so that I don't have to reset it all when I reconnect the battery?

I own a 2024 Equinox and flat tow it. No, when you disconnect the battery, I don't loose my radio settings. I also bought a battery disconnect switch so I only need to twist the knob to disconnect the battery. We have had great luck towing our Equinox.

Do yourself a huge favor and install a Roadmaster 766 Battery Disconnect solenoid. Makes towing SO much simpler and very easy to install. Available on Amazon.

That solenoid disconnect would be nice. I went a little simpler with the switch and then used a manual hood latch so I could open the hood, turn battery on then unlock door. You can go as simple or complex depending on your ability, budget or application.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I would like to know if you can tow the car with the battery still connected and a charging line attached from the motorhome to keep the battery charged? The original owners manual stated that was the method to use but then GM sent out a supplement stating that you should disconnect the battery. I would rather leave it connected and install the charge line if that will not damage anything on the car. I called GM and they were no help, telling me to contact the dealer. Contacted two dealers in my area and they said to read the owners manual. What a cluster!

As I understand it, no. Older modes you could but GM switched to electric brake booster and if the battery is left connected the brakes can apply. I read that some people were having an issue while towing through a cloverleaf and hearing squealing from the brakes being locked up. There are plenty threads going over the issues but the main takeaway is you need to disconnect the battery. You’ll also want to start your car every towing day to keep your transmission lubed. I believe that is in the manual as well.
