I'm in the process of replacing the exhaust cam on our 2018 equinox. Of course the chain has no colors or markings on it. I do see markers on both cam gears and the crank. Can I just mark the chain myself on each of these dots before pulling the camshaft?

Did the vacuum pump lock up on it? For what ever reason you don't hear of this happening too much on the LYX 1.5 in the Equinox. Seems more common in the 2018+ Terrain for what ever reason.

Not sure on the chain timing mark situation if there's nothing for an LYX on the YouTube's, etc. You might need a look at Mitchell, etc

Don't take any chances, your 2018 Chevy Equinox service manual must surely explain how to go about diagnosing and proceed step by step for this service.
