When I turn my ignition key to the on position I get around 55 psi for a split second then it drops to zero. Once I get the engine started the pressure is pretty steady at 52-56 psi. I read when I shut the engine off the pressure shouldn't drop no more than 5-8 psi in the first five minutes. As soon as I shut my engine off the pressure immediately drops to zero. This of course explains my starting issues. Any thoughts on what could be causing this problem? Possible faulty fuel pressure regulator?

I would look into the Fuel pressure regulator first and if that doesn't fix the problem, it might be the fuel pump/sending unit that needs replaced.
