Blue mirrors on and KMFDM blaring, I rip down the hill. As I arrive at the merge point, I see a BMW M5 in front of me and think this will be fun. He rips away and I have to make sure the coast is clear. I reeled him in like a 2lb sunny. We took the exit doing 70. I'm sure he was wondering how my little chevy station wagon kept up with his ultimate driving machine, but the 2.0 turbo had no issues. As we merge onto 81, he cuts off two cars and runs away. I would have given chase, but it was too crowded. Until next time M5.

The 1.6L diesel does a great job of passing these kind of people. All that torque! I see so Many Many drivers going way too fast for the area or conditions. BUT I have noticed more damaged cars driving around too! I can not understand how they have the money to waste fuel so much and so often. Are they not aware of how and why the car uses fuel??

I know we've talked about it a bit on here, but that 2.0T has to be a fun engine in the 2018+. I've never had the chance to drive one. I know the times I've driven my 2016 Malibu with the 2.5L (non-turbo), it's got pretty good power for what it is. It's my son's car. That 2.5 would be a ton of fun with a turbo on it.

Problem is, I really like the 30-32mpg tank to tank with my 1.5T

I'm with ya, but diesel is $5.80/gal currently in the Buffalo NY area, vs $4.50 for gas. Both painful, but gasoline slightly less painful.

Wow that is HIGH! I go to the station where the county city state etc vehicles get diesel and it is around 4.20 there now. Also I use a fuel discount from a grocery chain and that took 1.30 off last time so I filled my tank and filled a 5 gallon can too. That should last us about 6 weeks of driving.
