My 2025 Equinox comes with two USB-C *charging* points but I fear they do not *read* USB or other devices.

I'm a musician and prefer to listen to my own music while driving - most of it is in demo form and not available on iTunes etc.

What are my options for playing my music through the Equinox sound system?

isn't there a regular usb below the climate controls in the console?

I'm not seeing one. There's a "cigarette lighter" port on the lower level, but I'm not seeing USB-A

For that you will need an adapter to usb-c or a usb-c thumb drive. They are cheap on amazon. I understand it will play MP3s with ease. Wav and flac are also supported.
What kind of music do you play?

You CAN import mp3 through a USB-C port through the Audio app on the console screen. Wonky, but problem solved. Thanks all

I just bought a 2025 Equinox and plugged in my really old iPod (that was constantly plugged in my Toyota Prius for the last 12+ years) using a USB-C to USB adapter. You have to go to Audio options on the console and select USB from there. Working like a charm.

It works in my 2019 equinox although the random function leaves a lot to be desired. I have two usb-c next to each other in the compartment under the dash. You might try formatting your usb differently. I know some devices (older ones anyway) would only work with fat 32 formatting. And for whatever reason they don't seem to have audiophiles in charge of head unit audio functionality at gm.
