Hello from Ottawa.
I just changed from a 2018 Equinox to my new 2025. Figuring it out is a much steeper and more frustrating experience than the old one.
For one, the Universal Remote. See my post about that under the OTA thread. Mine works now.
My previous car was a Premier with the upgraded radio. I regularly used a USB stick of music in it and was surprised that when I plugged it into the new car. I could see the music list but nothing would play. It turns out that the non-premium radio in the new Equinox only recognizes .mp3 format so couldn't handle the .wmv files I had. It took me about seven hours to convert all the files over to .mp3 then delete all the .wmv files. Now it works.
Like others I find that GM has reduced the number of real controls and replaced them with icons on the screen which are not as useful or easy to use in my opinion and I miss the ability to drop the rear seat backs from the cargo area.
So far I like the drive-ability but am concerned that even though I have the same engine, the mileage seems to be less.
With only 300 km on the car so far I am still in beginner mode even though my last car was also an Equinox.
