We have a 2024 Equinox and it is frustrating when listening to the USB Stick when driving alone.....it will not allow you to browse the Stick manually, therefore you have to remember the 100s (and 100's) of albums you have on the drive so you can speak into the Voice Recognition what you want to listen to AND the 2nd frustrating issue is it is very hard to listen to a particular album from an artist..... For example let's say you have 5 albums from the same artist, you get tired of hearing...."I'm sorry, I did not understand you, please wait to say it again!".... you hear this so often that after about half dozen time you just give up and switch back to Sirius Satellite that you can browse manually while driving alone.....so tell me how does that make sense? (I'm so tired of the Nanny State, that does things that are frustrating to protect you).... SO I've pulled over on the interstate to stop so I could manually adjust the USB.....so stopping on the shoulder of the interstate....tell me how that is "Safe"?? IS there a way to defeat this issue while driving alone?

Chevy has its share of info/entertainment complaints for sure, but it's not just a GM thing these days, it's all makes.

Got to luv the "nanny state" when a car will not allow you to access something while moving so I pull over on the interstate shoulder to select something (usually on a long trip)..........so stopping on the shoulder is safer than browsing something while you drive??

My 2018 has the same infotainment system.
When listening to music on a USB stick I can skip to the next song or browse using using the buttons on the screen or steering wheel.

I don't stop on the shoulder on a interstate unless it's a emergency.
I can't think of anything I needed to do while driving that required me to stop.
There's some features you can't access while driving. It's setup that way for a good reason.

While moving or because the passenger seat is vacant? Mine will not allow certain functions unless the passenger seat is occupied and then the POS asks if it's the passenger using the touchscreen. Because I would NEVER lie about that... SMH.

Some cars use a weight sensor on the seat and some use a kind of radar. Try seatbelting a concrete block on the passenger seat and see what happens.

I can skip to the next song, but I cannot browse the 100's of CD's I have on the stick.... I can speak what I want and that requires remembering everything I have on the stick.....most of the times I have a response....."I don't understand what you said, speak again..." after 6 or 7+ times you just give up and change to Sirius XM or Terrestrial jradio....where you can browse............ so I guess they think that's safer..............???

So then why is browsing allowed for Terresial/Sirus XM and Streaming services but not USB's?????

We can skip to the next song but it will not allow us to browse....it says..."Use voice recognition!" Then when you try to it replies...."Sorry, didn't understand you.......after a few tries, you give up...........

I used a few of my son's weights and clicked in the seatbelt and it worked!

So then it tells you to use Voice Recognition, and assuming you remember the 4000 songs you have on the USB stick, the reply you get from the Voice Recognition is...."Sorry, didn't understand you........" Over and over and over.
