2019 Chevy equinox 1.6 LH7 diesel it’s ran on Mobil one esp was gonna switch to rotela t6 5w40 diesel oil is it okay for these engines to run on 15w40 in a hot environment because the 5w30 gets watery and thin too fast and generally doesn’t sound as heathy as it could

Make sure it meets the Dexos2 specification. I've used Pennzoil Euro 5w30, ESP 0w40 and now Amsoil Euro 5w40. Those all meet the Dexos2 specification.

I have a 2019 Equinox Diesel.
The oil filler cap says Dexos2
The oil from the Chevy dealership says 2Dexos?? The same???
Royal Purple 5w-30 Dexos2 - states - Gasoline only?
Amazon - Castrol Edge states 2Dexos
