Can't remove key from ignition

I just returned from a long trip; turned my engine off and cannot turn the key all the way back to remove it from the ignition. It stays in the aux position. Called onstar and they can't help me today as it is a holiday. I'm afraid my battery will run down as there is still low power. I am out of town visiting family. Driving back home tomorrow.

Probably the parking switch. Put it to drive then back to Park position and give him a push it will probably help!

I had the same problem with my silverado. I would have to slam my gear shift up in park quite a few times so I could turn the key back. Parking on a hill was the worst for me. I would have to start it and park it against a curb or get a block to take some tension off of what I call the transmission lock. hope you got it turned back and out.
