Burning through LED headlights every few months. Cause/recommendations?

Hi all,
I have a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox (base model) that came from the factory with standard halogen bulbs. Since the stock halogens were way too dim for night driving, I swapped them out for aftermarket LED bulbs shortly after getting the car.

I’ve owned the vehicle for almost 3 years now, and I’ve already gone through 3 sets of LED headlights. The lifespan on these LEDs has been terrible:

• Auxito LEDs: Failed twice within ~1 year each (first set was replaced under warranty).
• BEAMTECH LEDs: Lasted only 6 months (became so dim the factory DRLs were brighter).

I'm currently back on the stock halogens out of necessity.

Quick questions for the community:

1. Is this a common issue on these models?
2. Is heat build-up inside the sealed dust cap killing the drivers, or is it a voltage issue?
3. Which LED brand actually lasts long-term in these projector housings?

I have a feeling that the start/stop "feature" is killing the bulbs

You may need some resistors. Google that up and see what they have to say about a halogen to LED bulb upgrade.

Auxito and Beamtech LED bulbs are made in China.

I suspect the bulbs are of poor quality. There are plenty of aftermarket auto parts made in China that are simply junk.

The durability of these LEDs is always a problem. You never know what you're going to get.

I do believe you are on to something with the auto stop/start cycling. Especially if the vehicle has to endure a ton of A/S/S cycling. The surging of current on all the electronics in the vehicle isn't great for it.

With standard halogen bulbs you'll at least have lights.
