2025 LT. Started having issues where the google maps would randomly show car location blocks or miles away from where i was. Tried using onstar button to see if they could check what they show. Onstar button did nothing. Then the built in cellular signal indicator disappeared. Turns out telepathic module bad. Dropped off car for a week for them to repair. Got call it was fixed and working. Picked up the car, drove 2 miles and had same issues. Took car back and 3 days later was told the new telematics module is also bad. The part is now listed as backordered nationwide with no ETA. Oh and had a 2025 equinox for a loaner. The backup camera and backup sensors stopped working on day 2 showing a warning message on screen when in reverse. It also has the ANC issue with feedback sound coming from speakers at 1800 to 2100 RPM--saw there is a fix for that. And when starting the car the android auto volume defaults to max when you first use it--there is another software fix for that also. When I went back and tried to describe the ANC issue, a tech behind the counter immediately said yep sounds like a jet engine hum--pretty bad when a random tech immediately knows the problem on a 2025 model.

I have often said if one Chevy does it, they will all do it. Consistent, in a bad way. Sorry to hear pf all the troubles.

Exactly. My noise sounded like I was between two big rigs but I told them that when I had the CC on at 61 MPH it sounded like a F16 was in the next lane but this was no hum, I described it as more of a roar.

Exact same problem. Just got a call from OnStar telling me that they reset the module trying to help me but the module is probably bad. At one point it had my location 3000 miles away in California. It started with losing Google and then losing OnStar but it was intermittent but now it hasn't worked for a few days. Also had the jet engine in the back seat but a computer update took care of that. Onstar tech assistant said it's probably the Communication Module.

No maps, location far away or "waiting for gps", onstar not working, and "charger door open" notification always on. I have my vehicle currently in the shop at the dealership and awaiting the news. They said their electrical guy is currently out and they are trying to figure out what it is. All forums I have read say it's the telematics module for all except the charger door notification. I hope my car isn't there for days as it has already been there over night

Took ours to the dealer on Monday. Needs new telematic module as expected. Was told the car thinks it’s in Michigan. No doubt the default fail stage status. Waiting now on the part. Seems like a fairly prevalent issue.

I haven't contacted dealer yet, but add me to the telematic list and maybe others.
  • Navigation not working. "Started having issues where the google maps would randomly show car location blocks or miles away from where i was."
  • Compass direction in upper left corner of the driver info screen is blank.
  • Universal GDO missing on infotainment screen. Probably related to nav.
  • I installed the Amazon Music app. Songs start and play for exactly 50 seconds and stop.

This started on 12/22/25. The vehicle is 9 months old with 5567 miles. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), 27 months left on lease.

I have a 2025 Equinox RS AWD, built 3/2025. Since purchase there has been several over-the-air updates. The last one locked-up the system and failed to update, causing the radio to remain on, even with the car turned off and doors locked (after the 15 minute install period). The mileage was 4,5xx.

I took the car to the dealer and was told they were having new Equinox models returned with the same symptoms.

The dealer was able to download the failed update, and also downloaded six additional software updates (which changed some features of the computer menus or sub-menus). The service advisor was unable to tell me what the six updates were for.

You may be forced to return to the dealer for diagnosis and repair.

GM has done a MISERABLE job of software development and integration on the 2025 - 2026 Equinox models.

Service appointment scheduled for 1/14.

I told the service scheduler that I'm having a navigation problem and it's likely the telematic module. She said "yeah, it thinks you're miles away from where you're at?". Yup, they're well aware of the issue.

When I returned our 2025 Equinox RS AWD to the dealer soon after purchase with the AWD failure, the service advisor said several had been returned the prior week with the failure.

Then, after an OTA update, the radio and dash screen would remain on, after the car's engine was turned off, and the car parked and locked. I returned to the dealer and the service advisor said there was no need for him to look at the car (radio still on in the service write-up area), as they were having numerous Equinox models returned in the past few days with the same problem.

GM has done a miserable job on their vehicle software development and integration.

GM is getting good at issuing TSB's describing a vehicle defect, that state for the dealer to tell the customer "engineering is working on a solution".

My service appointment was Wednesday. The service advisor said the module is on back order. It will be AT LEAST two weeks for the replacement module. We'll see.

Anyone familiar with the vehicle updates?

It's been almost three weeks... not a peep from the dealer and no returned phone calls. I guess I'll have to make a pest of myself in person. Ugh.

So, I couldn't make an in-person visit to the dealer this week, but yesterday, I called and talked to their Customer Care Manager. She said there was still no estimate on part arrival. She also said that they would get a couple modules at a time and then another wait. She also said I was fourth in line for the repair. Ok, so that's some communication.

A few minutes ago, I received a call from my service advisor. Miraculously, my part arrived and I'm scheduled for the repair next week!?!? Coincidence? Squeaky wheel? Or fell through the cracks. Regardless, I'll take it.

GM’s ability to provide repair and maintenance parts on late-model year vehicles is dismal.
