‘25 Equinox, is there anyway to change the built-in Google Maps to satellite view?
I know how to do it on my phone and can use CarPlay google maps that way, but for some reason I can’t seem to change the built-in Google maps there seems to be no settings to change the terrain.
its otherwise use my phone with google maps how I like it or built in google map with the plain old regular generic view, seems strange they have no settings for that.

any ideas?

Odd that the manual does not address this. It does say there are settings for Traffic Layers - I guess that would not include Satellite view?

The Google directions are okay but I hate the map. My Garmin has so much more detail and you can actually use the map to help you in some situations. With Google the map is useless unless you are the passenger and can lean over to stare at the map.

Try Maps +
It will show the outline of buildings when in town and that may help with finding a place.
On a recent trip I tried Map + on my wife's Blazer and I liked that it had more detail than the Built In navigation.
I ended up changing back to the Built In Nav because it was a little more user friendly for me.
