Friends,

What's the average lifespan of the AGM battery in the 2022 Premiere? And what are the signs to replace, other than not cranking fast enough to start?

The first symptom that's often mentioned is that the engine Auto Start/Stop feature stops working and the engine no longer shuts down at traffic lights. The car's computer attempts to figure out whether the battery has sufficient capacity to reliably start the engine a lot and if it doesn't, it disables Auto Start/Stop.

LOL I have a 2018 with the original battery, just last March we parked our car at an airport parking lot for 10 days at -5 Celcius (23 F) and it fired up like nothing.

General consensus is 3-5 year lifespan for AGM batteries.

As mentioned already, odd electrical glitches are most commonly a sign that it's time to get the battery tested, or replaced. I carry a 2500 amp lithium starter pack ever since I hit 3 years lol. Since I a lot of highway driving I expect I might make it near or past 5 years. I am prepared in any event ;)

Two to Seven years or more, depends. Buy a simple battery tester and check it when you are also checking your oil and coolant levels.

Lifespan depends mostly on how hot it is where you live and the type of usage the vehicle sees. I'm still on the factory battery in my 2021 Equinox LT AWD with 74K miles on it. I disabled the A/S/S 2yrs ago when I bought it with 34K miles on it. It still tests good with my digital battery tester.

Heat is definitely a battery killer. I live in Florida, and down here you're lucky to get 3 or 4 years out of a battery before it fries.

I have a 2018 with the 1.5 L engine with 89000 km. I still have the original battery and haven't any issues. I went to Ireland last March and left my car 10 days parked at an airport parking facility and during those 10 days the temperature was around -5 C (23 F). When I got back, to my surprise the car started. I did have a jump stater in the car in case it wouldn't start. Although, summer is coming and maybe the heat will end it's life, we'll see.
